First time trying it so I decided to get The Boat (with one topping). Was quite disappointed to find that the one topping actually doesn't come with any chicken whatsoever. On top of that, I paid $7.00 for something that was listed for $4.55. Huh?! So basically, for $7.00 I get one piece of waffle with cherry topping on top?! Umm, yeah I definitely won't be back there again. smh.

The #9 I got today did not look remotely like the picture, just a couple of strips on a waffle. It is encouraging that they do make the waffles right there on the spot. While this truck has potential, like so many things these days’ pictures are not always what you get.

This was my first visit and it was worth the walk. The waffle had a good chew to it and the chicken was moist. I'll be looking for this truck again.

Folk life Festival on the Mall Capital Chicken and Waffles Food Truck - Awesome food! The waffles were big and fluffy. Chicken Strips were well seasoned. I was looking forward to wings. Sweet tea ice cold and homemade felt good going down my throat.
Saving the lemon cake for later on. The meal was very filling. I was stuffed.

Would also like to thank the staff for such great customer service. Everyone spoke with a smile and showed appreciation for patronage.
My $13.00 was well spent

I waited a month for the truck to come to Farragut Square and when it finally did, I wasn't impressed at all.

I waited for 10 minutes in the heat for my order to be made and by the time I got back to work, the waffle was soggy because the chicken strips were placed on top of it, directly out of the fryer. The chicken was seasoned okay, but I doubt I'll be back.

Areas for Improvement:
#1 - Give away free cold bottles of water with each purchase for the first 50 people to bring in more customers. (They would sell more combos with cold bottled water from Costco, than trying to sell Banana Pudding for $6.36 )
#2 - Lower the price of the Banana Pudding. The Boat Combo I ordered was 5.99, which included the chicken and the waffle (based on the truck's speciality). The banana pudding was more expensive than the combo, so I didn't order it, nor did the 5 other people who were in line with me. It's cheap to make Banana Pudding, so lower the price so it doesn't seem like the price is jacked up for a dessert that should be a side order.
#3 - Speed up the delivery time. Most who come to the truck are looking for a quick lunch and the time it took to make a waffle and fry chicken was entirely too long. I totally understand it's made to order, but during a lunch rush, we can't stand there for 10 minutes while other trucks are much speedier with customer service.
#4 - Think of adding French Fries to the menu for quicker service. You are already using the fryer to fry chicken strips, so why not use an extra one for french fries for those who don't want to wait waffles.

Not hard to guess where the Boat Combo gets its name. The Waffle is oval shaped and about 6-8 inches long. On top of the Waffle they pile on 4 fried chicken tenders.

Waffle was delicious. Not too sweet, very fluffy, cooked hot and fresh. The chicken was better than average. I liked the spices they used in the frying batter but I would have liked if it was covered a little more. After they serve it, you have a choice of 5-6 free syrups to try.

It was the perfect size for lunch - filling but I didn't want to take a nap at my desk afterwards. For $6 I think it's one of the better values from the DC food truck fleet. Will definitely be coming back.
