Visited twice, had beef patties one time and chicken roti the second. Peas and rice and plantains both time.

Peas and rice were essentially devoid of seasoning. Very bland.

Plantains were good and consistent between the two visits, although on the first I got a huge serving and on the second I got three pieces total.

Beef patties were tasty and had reasonable spiciness. I would get them again.

Chicken roti appeared to be the chicken curry in a wrapper. The wrapper as all but inedible. The filing had good flavor, but was full of bones. I ended up with two full thigh bones and numerous shards and fragments. They really need to get the "(boneless)" off the menu because it isn't even close to accurate.

Service was very friendly and prompt.

The menu is a little confusing, listing entrees and sides. The problem is that some of the entrees don't go with the $10 special (including the beef patties, although I talked them into it). Also not all of the sides go with the special and not all of the sides are available. The second time I just quit guessing what I could have.

The menu at the truck has no prices except for the $10 special.

Overall, I'm sorry to say that there are lots of better choices out there.

The customer service was warm like the Caribbean. I ordered the curry chicken entree with a side of plantains and peas & rice. The plantains were perfect! They had just the right texture and moistness. The meat of the chicken smoothly came off the bone and the curry sauce was delicious. I definitely recommend this truck.

Absolutely Great... Customer service was even better... Would love for them to come to my area more often... Farragut Square

The best thing I can say about this place is that they give you a decent amount of food. The ox tail was certainly tender, but it didn't taste like much at all. I noticed that other reviewers that didn't like the food complained about heavy handedness with spices. I'd say that either the truck needs to strike a fair balance between bland and spice or truckgoers ought to expect some serious spice (as I did) from West Indian food.

What truly destroyed my whole experience, however, were the rice and peas. Yes, it's true that they are not peas but beans, but I'm willing to chalk that up to a potential idiomatic thing that I'm unaware of. The less forgivable piece is that they tasted like cigarettes. Maybe something was burned in the process, I'm not sure, but it rendered the whole thing inedible.

Good sized portion was served. The curry chicken was boneless, skinless and well seasoned. The rice was cooked to perfection served under the chicken. Perfect to eat without having to pick through and spit out chipped bones. The cabbage was seasoned well with carrots, peppers and onions but not too many that there was not any cabbage. Keep up the good food and I will frequent your truck.. Valentine

This is TRUE west indian cuisine! Hope to see them every Friday on Mass Ave. They ran out of food so quickly b/c the wood of mouth is ridiculous!!! I'll be sure to eat lunch early on the Fridays that they'll be on Mass Ave so I can get some oxtail. Tender, flavorful, spicy - but not so much that you can't taste the food...the food was great!

Is This One Of Your Favorite Trucks?: It could be.

The food was great just like your mom in the kitchen. My problems was atention to detail. I did not get the correct dressing for the salad. The coco bread was stale, tasted old I could taste the yeast or something in it. Not good when I had pay for it. The food was really tasting great until I pulled a long gray/white hair from the jerk chicken. Please get on top of that finding hair in the food is not a good look. I can only thing how long it cooked or sat in the food made me sick on the stomach and plus I spent my money. 🙁 Oh and the plainten were hard not ripe and not a lot but after I tasted how hard they were I was glad. The taste was excellent best oxtails and jerk wings I have tasted. The hair drop my 5 stars to a 2 star.

Is This One Of Your Favorite Trucks?: Absolutely not

"Peas" and rice is actually red beans and rice, not peas and rice at all. The rice was partly crunchy the rest over sauced and sloppy. The chicken was just okay - nothing special. The salad was a joke, a total rip off. Waaaaay too little food for $10. I tried a sample of the oxtail and didn't like it. Both the curry chicken and the oxtail were heavy-handed with the spice and oil, causing the flavors to be completely muddy. I wouldn't waste my time with this truck. Wish I could get my money back. Oh well, lesson learned I guess.
