Is This One Of Your Favorite Trucks?: It is now

I have been longing for a Caribbean food truck and this one did not disappoint. I am West Indian, so I had high expectations for the food. The ox tail was tender and juicy (and seasoned well). The rice and pease was flavorful and the plantains were perfect. While waiting for my food, a man ran over to the truck to tell the guys that their jerk chicken wings were excellent.....I guess I'll try that next time.

I ordered ox tail with peas and rice and plantains. Overall, the food was OK...pretty flavorful. The problem is the service leaves much to be desired. The food was not very warm and the worse part about it is that they really short changed me with the portion. For $10, they only filled up the portion of the main section of the styrofoam container and not the two sections meant for the sides. I understand that food trucks are not cheap and have payed that much for lunches at other trucks, but at least they gave me a sizable portion of food. I won't say that I won't go back, but I'm not pressed. As a West Indian, I was excited to finally see a West Indian food truck in a city that has a respectable representation of the Caribbean. But overall, I, along with a Jamaican co-worker of mine was disappointed. But this was their very first day, so hopefully this is just growing pains and they will improve.

3.5 5.0 32 32 I discovered the truck the week before I was going to Jamaica for my wedding and honeymoon. I was already impressed with the food before Jamaica and even more so after going. It Caribbean Cafe Food Truck
