This place is consistently fantastic. The lines are always long but totally worth the wait. The steak plate is fantastic and they give you a LOT. Usually lasts me 2 days. The mac salad is fantastic also, and they get bonus points for bringing back memories from my childhood with Hawaiian Punch. This might be my favorite truck.

I've been going to a different truck every other day for about four months, and this might be the best one I've gone to. It definitely smelled the best—the sidewalk just reeked of deliciousness. Mac salad was maybe a little bit of overkill (consider the tossed, especially for the health conscious) but the teriyaki steak was among the best I've had. Only grip? I'd love side cups for the siracha sauce (offered) as the dish is entirely sweet, and I enjoyed adding some spice. It's a really big meal, and I actually thought there was TOO MUCH meat relative to the sides—a nice change of pace.

Excellent bang for the buck. I always get the mixed plate, but the pork & cabbage is my favorite portion. The chicken and beef are great as well, which is why I keep getting the mixed plate. I always feel like if I just get one meat I'm missing out on the other two. Great food at a great price!

Hula Girl isn't awful but it wasn't the best food I've ever had. I wanted a Teryaki chicken sandwich but they ran out of rolls right when I got to the head of the line (which took 20 min). So I got stuck with chicken and rice for lunch. Not terrible. Just basic grilled chicken and white rice. The macaroni salad was a little gross. I'm not sure I'd go back. I get that they were busy, but it wasn't really worth the wait.

Awesome! Mixed plate has so much food on it you could easily feed two people. Macaroni salad was really good and they are friendly.

Hula Girl brings the Aloha spirit to the DC area in a tricked out woody truck serving grilled Hawaiian teriyaki, plate lunches, salads and sandwiches. They launched on July 27, 2011 in Franklin Square park.
