From the owner: Mac’s Donuts is an Arlington based food cart that sells hot made to order Apple Cider Donuts. We were voted the best donuts in DC in the Washingtonian’s Great Doughnut Derby 2013 as well as runner up at Donut Fest 2013. We set up at the Courthouse Farmers Market Every Saturday. We began in 2009 setting up in a tent at street fairs in the DC area and various markets. Then in 2012 we purchased a food cart! The cart is still towed by the same old 1985 VW camper van (named the Brown Hornet!) that we have used for years. We make hot apple cider donuts cooked as you order them! So not only do you get a bag or stick of hot apple cider donuts, but you get a free show watching the donuts being made in the Automatic Donut machine! As it gets colder we sell Hot apple cider. Also we are the only place in the lower 48 states you can get a Stick-o-Donuts (trademark pending). !! That is 6 hot donuts on a stick!! You don’t even have to get your hands dirty! (This was my lovely wife’s invention!)
We also try and use local apple cider whenever possible. To top it all off we use the waste veggie oil left over from the frying in our Diesel VW Jetta as fuel!
