Evidently, MPD is training officers on how to inspect food trucks today in Franklin Park. I think that’s ok, but why did they pick the busiest time of the day to shutdown trucks for inspections (especially since this isn’t an emergency)? Last I heard, brick and mortar restaurants aren’t forced to shut down in the middle of the lunch hour so that inspectors can train new recruits.
Not only that, but the above photo looks like a crime scene. That’s another great way to negatively impact a business.
Where are those new DC food truck regulations we’ve been hearing about? They definitely need to address situations like this.
UPDATE: More photos flowing in from upset DC food truck fans.

That is absolutely ridiculous. Can someone please start a petition to help out these trucks. I understand public food safety but even brick & mortar stores are given advance notice of arrival unless previously cited for a particular offense!
Somebody on MPD is bought and sold. ‘Nuff said.
Seeing this obvious harrasment makes me more likely to skip out on buying lunch from the brick and mortar places altogether, in favor of the food trucks. The free market has spoken, peole like the variety the food trucks bring. Brick and mortar restaurants can either evolve or go the way of the dodo.
It’s sad food trucks still can’t get a minimum level of respect with the mpd. Anyone else agree that age discrimination is part of this?
