I have never seen this truck in DC before, and it had no other reviews, but oh my god, it is DELICIOUS!!! If you like Japanese food (I love pork and chicken katsu and curries) then you will LOVE this truck. They also give you a TON of food if you order what I ordered...I definitely hope they come back more often!! I also loved how they included miso soup and gave my chopsticks in the 9 dollar meal, very good value for good quality tasty food!

Tokyo in the City has been my favorite truck since I first got to try their awesome sushi rolls. They always have the best food so I tried their special of the month which is the Chicken katsu curry. I personally love katsu curry and I always get it from restaurants whenever I can. So I gave this one a try. Honest opinion- the sauce wasn't so tasty (probably needed more curry flavor, a hint of sweetness and saltyness too) compared to the ones I have tried before. What disappointed me most was the badly cooked rice that it came with. Maybe it was just that day but unfortunately it was almost a mochi like consistency and grainy at the same time. I love the truck and would love to give it another try next time. Maybe it was just a bad day after all. Thanks!

Thank you to switching to the good soy sauce! No more cheap soy sauce. The Las Vegas roll was good. However, the menu said "crab meat" but it had "crab stick". I think that's very misleading. I normally don't eat "crab stick" rolls. However, it did taste good but I would not order it again since it's not real crab.

The miso soup was excellent. The menu says all boxes come with salad but mine had none. I did have some edamame (perhaps instead?). There was a disappointing number (2) of sweet potato pieces as well. The roll was fine but there was definitely too much mayo and the spicey mayo could have been spicier. Not bad but I tend to like simpler rolls so I may not come back very often.

I will try it again, before the 12:30 part of the hour next time. They were out of the Las Vegas roll, which looked really good. I would have preferred the salad with ginger dressing, instead of the edamame. Also, there wasn't alot of the aioli on my roll or ginger & wasabi in the box. I did get 3 of my coworkers to try it and they had a better experience.
