The sausage was really good, but it was frustrating to get a whole mess of stuff on my sandwich that wasn't listed on the menu. I specifically ordered the chorizo because it was one of the only things on the menu that didn't have onions on it. Since it's the middle of the workday, I'd rather not sit in afternoon meetings with onion breath. Anyway, when I got back to my desk, I found out that my sausage was covered in raw onions and an unspecified sauce that was also not listed on the menu. Sad. I would've loved to dive right in, but I ended up scraping the onions into the trash, which, because of the sauce, was pretty messy work. The sausage was good, the service was polite and friendly... I just wish the menu gave an accurate picture of what was going on my sandwich.

I have to say, I fell in love with this truck the minute I tried their amazingly crispy and deliciously seasoned chili cheese fries and then BAM this year, I ran out to order them for the 2nd time ever and all of a sudden realized that the option was no longer there! What happened to the chili cheese fries?! They were sooo good! Now they are gone and they are serving sausages...I dunno. It was a sad day for this DC Food Truck fan.

Awesome sandwich! Very flavorful and fresh! Decent size and a great value for $7.

The guy is super friendly, and the line moved pretty fast even with just him handling everything.

Most importantly, good sausages with good ingredients at a good price. Server was really friendly, gave me 2 for 1 since business was slow. Go show

Tops American Food Company serves quality (and inexpensive) sausages fresh from Logan Sausage in Alexandria, fresh bread and chilli cook-off winning chilli primarily in DC and in Montgomery County, Maryland.

Thanks to Richard for reporting some new details about Tops’ offerings! (Jan 2013)  They used to source sausages from Lancaster PA, but now source locally from Logan Sausage in Alexandria.  The bread used to be sourced from Philly, but it is unknown if the bread is sourced locally.

Please note (Jan 2013): prices have changed: Specialty sausages are now $7 and regular dogs are still $3.  Sometimes, Tops tweets 2-for-$10 deals.  Fries are no longer on the menu.
