The Food Network hosted an online voting contest for the most popular food truck in the nation. The winning truck would receive a cash prize and a chance to appear on season 3 of The Great Food Truck Race TV show.
That all sounds great, but they missed one critical thing. When you went to select the state where your favorite food truck was located, Washington DC was missing. Of course, I immediately notified the Food Network of this oversight to no avail. Though, later that day, Eat Street (a Food Network property) coincidentally tweeted to ask me my opinion in DC’s most camera-ready food trucks. And, Eat Street was in DC this week filming some trucks, so maybe my plea didn’t fall on deaf ears.
In spite of all of this drama, Basil Thyme was able to place in the top 100 by registering his truck profile in Maryland. Congrats! The winner will be announced on Sept 25.
