So… were there no awards for actual food?
The Funky Fresh Foodie Festival was great – despite the drizzling rain for part of the afternoon!
The trucks had great food, the music was entertaining, fun was definitely had!
Thank you also for the coupon code 🙂
Blah: It’s hard to compare apples to oranges when it comes to food! I think these voting categories were more representative of the fun DC food truck scene and were easier for fans to judge across the board.
While I agree in theory Kyle, it seems a shame that for six categories, there were only 15 trucks on the nomination out of what, 75 trucks in the district working. And Fojol wins three out of the four categories.
That aside, it was a pretty decent turnout. Sadly as soon as the rain started, we were pretty much boned trying to take cover. (Thankful, I brought an umbrella)
Portion sizes among trucks varied quite a bit, but overall the experience was great. Not every day I get to eat 10 trucks in three hours.
What were the actual vote numbers? What was the margin of victory? It’s more interesting to know to get a sense of whether or not the competitions were close.
I don’t think the event or awards were anything so formal. I’m also guessing that the nominations were limited to only those in the DCFTA. However that is only a hypnosis as I do not know what the selection or nomination criteria actuallywere.
Yeah, sorry – I don’t have the actual numbers. I’ll ask that the next time a poll is conducted I get the actual percentages, instead of just the winners.
