The Washington Business Journal has the scoop on a new software platform, developed by George Mason University masters students, that let’s DC food truck owners swap DCRA lottery parking spots!

The background here is that every month, DC food trucks apply for and receive assigned parking spaces for all of the hot serving locations in the District.  Sometimes, the food truck owners don’t get assigned the locations that they prefer to serve from on specific days, so begins a very manual process of tweeting, emailing, texting and calling other food truck owners to swap their assigned spaces; a job better preformed by a computer.

It sounds like the system is still in development, to be tested next month!  What does this mean for you?  Well, less vacant DCRA lottery parking spaces and more lunch options.  🙂

Thanks to David for the tip!
