this is a good meatball. the meatball is Italian. it had a nice soft texture and really good spice profile. The sauce was tasty and the sandwich was hot. One drawback--the bread was not crispy. Meatball sandwich must have a good crunch.

I will have to say meatball sandwich is a lost art. It is a rare find indeed to get one that is decent.

Overall, this is a good meatball sandwich. I will get it again.

This could not have been any better. The sliced chicken was still warm, over a large bed of fresh romaine with shredded cheese. I removed the chicken to dice it and put it back on top to speed up the box-to-mouth food transfer time. The dressing - the dressing! Simply fantastic. I believe it's an olive oil/parmesan/garlic homemade creation that is my new favorite. It's almost like the dipping sauce at Not Your Average Joe's, which is also fantastic. The croutons were lightly flavored and fresh, giving the salad just a hint of crunch and spice. Both dressing and croutons came in their own containers. It also came with a roll, and today, w/a small plate with a container of olive oil&pepper (and typed instructions on the best way to eat it!) which was also very tasty. This is the first 5-star review I have left because it was just. that. good. 🙂

The romaine was crisp and fresh, plus the chicken was quality. I asked before purchasing the salad b/c I had a bad experience with another truck and they said it was Purdue. The homemade dressing was what made the salad so yummy, it was AMAZING! There was nothing special about the croutons and for almost $9 dollars, my one suggestion is to add a piece of bread for dipping in the fabulous dressing, this would round out the meal nicely and make more filling.

I was really surprised by some of these lower rated reviews. The meatball sub was delicious! The meatballs had great flavor and the sauce was also very good. $8 for a sub isn't the greatest price, but I don't think it is bad either, I mean, this isn't subway- you will pay a little more for for a higher quality food.
Staff was very friendly and I would definitely go back.

Caesar Salad was wonderful. The dressing was homemade, which I didn't expect. Nice surprise. Would diffently order again.

I had been craving this meatball sub since I read the description this morning. I walked four blocks in the rain to go grab one at lunchtime. I should have known something was up when I noticed Little Italy was one of 3 trucks (there were about 9 out there) that did not have a line. I didn't mind paying the $8.00 for the sub because I expected a large, delectable sandwich that would satisfy me for the rest of the day. What I got was a styrofoam container that was so light that I thought it was going to fly out of my hands. I got back to my desk to find the smallest sub I'd ever seen in my life. The taste was absolutely delicious, I must say. The pepperoni under the meatballs added that extra zing that gave the sandwich a pizza-like flavor. The meatballs were seasoned well, but a couple of them were dry as a bone. They should either come down on the price for such a small sandwich or make a bigger portion.

Wish I would have read the previous reviews before I went and got the meatball sub. Roll was kind of stale; meatballs & sauce were fair along with a razor thin slice of pepperoni, over all the sub was not very big.(Guess I should have eaten there on Jan 28 because I don’t know what that person is talking about) can’t comment about any other offerings but all in all the sub is NOT worth the asking price.

I tried this truck two times a couple weeks apart but was not impressed. Once Basil Thyme retired I was looking for a new Italian truck and was excited about this one. The meatball sub was ok, the sandwich was small and definitely could have used more sauce. The pasta with meatballs was disappointing because none of the pasta is homemade on this truck (unlike Basil Thyme) and the sauce was odd. The description of the truck states "homeade Italian cuisine" but I guess it's just the sauce and meatballs that are homemade, not the pasta. In any event, did not feel I got my $ worth in quality or flavor.

Sub was fantastic. At first I thought the sub was too much for me to eat at one time, so I planned to save half for tomorrow's lunch. There were 5 good size meatballs along with pepperoni and 2 slices of motz cheese. The meatballs were seasoned nicely. Unfortunately, I could not stop eating the sub. I no longer have any sub for tomorrow, and I am a bit full. I will try slicing the sub in half next time and putting it away in the fridge.

It was a disappointment. $9 for an undersized serving that didn't make up for it with taste. Very average. The roll was OK.
