UPDATE: It appears as though Phonomenon’s last day of service was yesterday (August 10).
Wow. The operator of Phonomenon posted a write-up of what has been going on in her life for the past month or so. I’m sorry to announce that tomorrow (8/12/2011) will be their last day serving and that they are putting the business up for sale. They launched just 1 month ago on July 11. Although the business was successful, exhaustion and a bad business partner were to blame for their closing.
How can I contact Rachel about the sale of the truck?
Arash: That info is on their facebook Info page
Rachel, you need to do this again. I had the chicken pho @ L’enfant and it was wonderful. I’m sorry this didn’t work out b/c Phonomenon went to the top of my list.
The portions were great for the price. My only “complaint” would be that it’s enough for 2 people. It’s hard to split that in an office.
Don’t give up on this idea. The soup is excellent.
This breaks my heart. The young girl running the truck was so sweet and friendly and that banh mi was probably the best I have ever tasted. The meat was perfectly done, tender, and flavorful… the veggies were crisp and fresh, the bread was perfect… the sauces were delightful. Everything about that sandwich was absolute perfection. I am sorry to hear they are closing down. I had just gotten my coworkers over here at Franklin Park hooked on them, and I will sorely miss the banh mi myself. 🙁
We’ll miss you Phonomenon. =(
Thank you everyone for being so thoughtful! Please keep me and the rest of the original Phonomenon crews in your prayers!
