The bowl I got was delicious. It was a rice and quinoa bowl. There was a flavor explosion when they combined the rice with ginger and coconut milk with the chicken and vegetables that came with the bowl. The result is a top notch meal.

I'd give the sandwich itself 3/3.5 stars. Not the best Bahn Mi I've had from a truck in DC, but pretty good. It seems a little Americanized, but that's fine by me.

I'm giving it 2 stars because of the price, which is higher than any bahn mi I've had, and not worth the extra $$ (mine was beef - pork and chicken do cost less). Their websie says beef is 7.50, the picture of the menu on FTF says all sandwiches are 8, but apparently the beef is actually like 9.70 before tax, which is ridiculous. When I told the guy that the price was a lot higher than the website, he said "oh, that's old", like a truck's website is something completely out of their control. Also, they've only been around a couple of years so a 30% increse during that time seems a bit much.

We are new to food truck dining. Bonmi was a pleasant spontaneous opportunity as we made our way to our hotel. Service was great. The rice bowls sounded good so my husband and I each ordered one. We got the pulled pork and chicken. We loved the combination of ingredients and the mix of flavors. We enjoyed it very much and will keep our eyes out for Bonmi.

I love Bonmi!! I have ordered the Bonmi chicken repeatedly and it's been packed with flavor and moist pieces. They have been doing more slow cooked loose chicken lately but the flavor is the same. The pickled carrots, cilantro, and sprouts are my fav topping with spicy mayo..

I had tried BonMi before and not been impressed, but I figured I owed them a second try... which will be my last. The guys on the truck are super nice but my lunch was disappointing. The quality of the chicken isn't good - it's greyish and unappetizing. The "noodle bowl" is noodles drenched in a spicy line dressing, a mound of picked carrots, the chicken, topped with a few springs of cilantro - not much there. The dressing and the sauce on the chicken didn't really work well together. Some more herbs, the dressing on the side and a more savory cut of meat would have saved this (and revamped the entire bowl). Definitely a waste of $8.

I really wanted to fall in love with this truck but I was a little disappointed. Don't get me wrong, the pulled pork was tender and perfectly cooked, but the carrots, cilantro and cucumber should have been pickled and were not. The sub roll bread was very good as well. The sauce they put on the sub roll was good too. However, I would try to make like a sauce to swirl onto the meat when it's on the roll and marinate the cucumbers in a little sugar and apple cider vinegar with the cilantro and carrots. I was expecting a burst of bold flavors in my first bite and I got bland, but well-cooked pork. So when you order a bonmi sandwich, expect good pork, little flavor, and non-pickled veggies.

I really wanted to like this - the guys were super nice and gave me extra cilantro. But the chicken is greasy and fatty (could have passed for pork), the sandwich fell apart and the "chicken" was an unpleasant, almost too sweet flavor and was drowned in unidentifiable brown stuff. Also, definitely not enough food for $8. Super disappointed.

Today was my first time trying Bonmi, even though I have seen them at M & NJ SE, as I am not usually in the mood for sandwiches.

I enjoyed my Garlic Soy Sauce Chicken sandwich. The fresh cilantro added a nice zing of flavor, and the amount of vegetables on my sandwich was just right.

I am looking forward to trying more of their offerings.

What Did You Order?: Butternut squash bonmi

They were out of the garlic lemongrass chicken so I tried the butternut squash instead. The squash could have been cooked a bit more. The spicey mayo definitely had a nice kick to it and the toppings were fresh.

That being said, the sandwich is small and not worth the $8 I paid for it. I've had bonmi from other food trucks that were much larger for the same price. It was worth it to try but I don't think I'll be coming back.
